SEC Temporarily Extends Security-Based Swap Exemptions and Amends Order (Fed. Reg.)

The SEC published the revised Order and the announcement of the adoption of amendments to extend the expiration dates in its interim final rules in the Federal Register. The interim final rules provide exemptions for security-based swaps that are defined as "securities" under the Exchange Act and the Securities Act and, prior to July 16, 2011, were security-based swap agreements. Under the amendments, the expiration dates in the interim final rules will be extended from February 11, 2014, to February 11, 2017.
