SEC Solicits Comment on Effective Date of MSRB Rule G-18 Regarding Best Execution (Fed. Reg.)

The SEC request for comment on the MSRB's (i) proposed rule change to revise the effective date of new Rule G-18 ("Best Execution of Transactions in Municipal Securities"), and (ii) related proposed amendments to Rule G-48 ("Transactions with Sophisticated Municipal Market Professionals") and Rule D-15 (on the definition of "Sophisticated Municipal Market Professional") was published in the Federal Register.

The MSRB's proposed new effective date of Rule G-18 and the related amendments would be 120 days from the date of publication of implementation guidance on those rule changes, but no later than April 29, 2016.



Comments on the effective date must be submitted by October 14, 2015.
