Kalshi Tightens Terms for Forms of Event Contract Self-Certifications for Listing
KalshiEX LLC amended its sporting corporate announcement event contracts to tighten definitions, update source hierarchies, and clarify payout resolutions.
In the filing, the designated contract market modified the contract titled "Will [sporting entity] be the [count] member of [set] to make [corporate announcement] in [time period]?". The amendments become effective ten business days after the July 28, 2026 submission.
Kalshi closed the definitions of the sporting entity and corporate announcement to enumerated lists, removing open-ended illustrative language and catch-all categories. The exchange also required that the set of entities be defined by objective, closed membership criteria fixed at issuance and drawn from a single league.
The exchange removed open-ended broadcast outlets as source agencies. For entities registered with the SEC, Kalshi added the registrant's EDGAR filings as a source agency.
Kalshi added a continuity provision to address the renaming, relocation, reorganization, or restructuring of an enumerated entity. The exchange also added a provision to the payout criterion governing the resolution of conflicts among source agencies and the treatment of corrections and revisions prior to expiration.
