CFTC Renews Charter of the Market Risk Advisory Committee (Fed. Reg.)
The CFTC renewed the Charter of the Market Risk Advisory Committee ("MRAC") affirming the Committee mandate as necessary and in the public interest. The Notice of Renewal was published in the Federal Register.
The CFTC stated that the MRAC's objectives and scope of activities will remain in place as it continues to conduct public meetings and submit reports and recommendations to the CFTC on (i) systemic issues that impact the stability of the derivatives markets and other related financial markets, and (ii) the impact and implications of the evolving market structure of the derivatives markets and other related financial markets.
The CFTC noted that the MRAC will operate for two years from the renewal date unless the CFTC directs the MRAC to terminate on an earlier date.
