CFTC Makes Technical Corrections to Its General and Registration Rules (Fed. Reg.)

The CFTC made technical corrections to CFTC Rules Part 1 and Part 3.

Changes to Part 1 ("General Regulations"), Rule 1.3 ("Definitions"), call for removing from the second paragraph, (aa)(3)(ii), the text "the supervision of any person or persons so engaged."

Changes to Part 3 ("Registration"), Rule 3.45 ("Restrictions upon activities") include a revision to paragraph (b), to include the text "or retail foreign exchange dealer."

Further, Rule 3.10 ("Registration of futures commission merchants, retail foreign exchange dealers, introducing brokers, commodity trading advisors, commodity pool operators, swap dealers, major swap participants and leverage transaction merchants") calls to remove from paragraph (b)(1)(a) the text "Upon effectiveness of any revocation or withdrawal of registration" and to add to paragraph (2) the text "or retail foreign exchange dealer."
