FINRA Makes Changes to ATS Reporting Requirements (Fed. Reg.)

The SEC requested comments on a series of FINRA-proposed rule changes concerning trading information and reporting for alternative trading systems ("ATSs"). The SEC's request was published in the Federal Register.

Specifically, FINRA proposed rule changes that include the following: (i) delete FINRA Rule 4552 (which requires ATSs to report certain weekly volume information to FINRA); (ii) amend FINRA Rules 6110 and 6610 (to add provision regarding publication of ATS volume and trade count information for equities); and (iii) amend FINRA Rules 6183 and 6625 (to require ATSs seeking an exemption from trading reporting rules to provide FINRA with a link to a web site displaying weekly equity volume).

Comments on the proposed rule changes must be submitted by February 16, 2016.
